The latest version of SynergySoft 7.2 is scheduled for release on 14 December. The release contains a number of significant changes. You'll find enhancements documents for each of the changes listed below.
Please note that some changes are separately chargeable options. If you would like to know more about any of these, please contact sales@itvision.com.au for more information.
When the latest version of 7.2 is sent out you'll receive instructions on where to obtain the installation set and supporting documentation, including Installation Notes, Release Notes and Enhancement documents.
Rates Changes
When producing Trial Balance Reports it's now possible to enter a cut off date.
Abandoned Vehicles Register
The Abandoned Vehicles register is used to record details about abandoned vehicles that have been reported to council.
Using the abandoned vehicles register it is possible to identify at any point in time which stage of the impoundment process the Vehicle is currently at.
It is also possible to record any Fees that have been incurred and to record receipts when payment is received.
The Abandoned Vehicles Register is also linked to:
     • The Purchase Order and Creditors systems
This allows costs such as towing costs to be recorded against the abandoned vehicle.
The register is also linked to the
     • Central Records system
Standard letters that contain information about the abandoned vehicle (such as letters to the police department requesting vehicle owner details, or letters to the owner to notify them that their vehicle has been located) may be created for interested parties and automatically stored in the Records system.
Development Applications Reporting
The following changes have been introduced to allow:
applicants to track the progress of their development applications via the web, and
managers to produce reports to track the progress of development applications. The following 2 Reports can be produced:
      - Internal Officers - In Progress Report
       - Internal Officers - Completed Report
Swimming Pools - Digital Pens
Pool Inspectors can use a Digital Pen to record findings from inspections that have been conducted on a standard form. When filling out the form, the Digital Pen will capture all pen strokes. Back at the office, rather than manually keying in the details from each inspection form into the relevant Pool record in SynergySoft, the data captured on the Digital Pen are simply downloaded into a separate application called Colleagues which uses character recognition to translate the information held on the pen into a csv file. The data in the csv file are then imported into SynergySoft and the relevant Pool records are updated with the latest inspection details.
Mapping - Map File Details Enhancements
The following two enhancements have been made to the Map File Details option in version 7.2. Using these options it is now possible to:
produce a count on a field in a linked file
Using this option it is now possible to click on a property/land parcel on the map and find out how many dogs exist at that property, or how many pools exist at that property, for example.

display the value of the linked file's attribute, and if multiple values exist, display the word multiple to indicate that there is more than one value
Using the option it is possible to click on a property/land parcel and if it has a Pool attached to it, you could find out what Pool Type it is.
Where a Property has more than one Pool, when displaying Pool Types on the map, the system will now display a message to indicate that there are multiple Pool Types, instead of displaying a single Pool Type code.
Town Planning - ability to add Amendments to existing Applications
The Town Planning system now allows for the creation of Planning Amendments. Each Amendment will be an exact copy of the original Planning Application, except that it will not contain any of the original Application’s Stage items. When an Amendment is created, a link exists between the original Application and the Amendment. Users can simply click on a button to open and view the Amendment. From the Amendment, the user can go back to the original Application by doing the same.
