SynergySoft Cash Receipting Change

Just a reminder on a cash receipting change that was introduced in v7.1, that is the ability to change posting periods on receipt batches before they are updated.

To change a posting period use the Receipt Update form, highlight the batch to be changed and click on the Change Posting Period button, which will open a small form allowing the posting period to be changed.

Documentation Update

Community Information and Bookings
The Community Information and Bookings User Guide has been updated for V7.1
The latest version is on our website

TIP: Remember that to access the User Guides, log in then click on the Documentation > User Reference Material folders in the folder tree on the left.

Amongst other things, the Guide explains how to:

• Record details about Events that take place within Shire boundaries
• Record details about Events that take place within Shire boundaries
• Enter details about Council Facilities that can be booked
• Create Bookings from either the Bookings or Booking Enquiries program
• See which Bookings already exist for all your Facilities and check before Booking a Facility whether it is available on the date required
• Link a Booking to a Debtor so the Booking can be paid for by debtors invoice, if you choose to do so
• How to create Reports, such as Booking Confirmations and the Event Calendar

DIY (Coming Soon)
Although there are a large number of systems and programs within SynergySoft that cover a multitude of purposes, there may be times when you need to record or report on specific information and there isn't an existing standard system or program in SynergySoft that you can use to do so.

What do you do then? That's where DIY comes in.

Using DIY you can create your own entirely new system within SynergySoft
Assuming you wanted to create a new system to manage Heritage Buildings, you could do so and add all relevant programs (e.g. Heritage Listing, Organisations and Legislation) to your new system.

Alternatively you could create your own new program and add it to an existing SynergySoft system.
Imagine you wanted to add a new program for managing your IT Inventory and add it to the existing SynergySoft Assets module, you could do that.

When you add a new system or program using DIY, to an end user, it will look and function just like any other standard SynergySoft system or program.

The DIY User Guide is in our new format. Other new Guides include the Report Manager, eServices (Online Leave Applications) and the Community Information and Bookings User Guides. Please have a look and let us know what you think.

Comments and suggestions can be sent at any time to documentation@itvision.com.au

We are currently in the process of reviewing all our User Guides. At the moment work is underway on the Payroll and General Ledger User Guides for example.

Release Documentation
For each new version of 7.1 and 7.2 a number of supporting release documents are available. Please refer to the Release Notes, Enhancements Documents and Installation Guide for a list of all recent changes and for instructions on how to install the latest release. (You'll notice that for all .1 releases e.g. 6.1, 7.1, 8.1, in addition to the above documents, Fixes Notes are also available once the initial release has gone out. The Fixes document contains a list of all fixes that have been made since the main version was released, a description of any Known Issues at the time the release went out, the names of any additional Conversion programs that need to be run, and a list of any Product Alerts that were issued since the initial release.) Please refer to the relevant release documentation when upgrading.

If you have any Documentation feedback we’d like to hear from you, please direct emails to documentation@itvision.com.au we appreciate your feedback.
