SynergySoft is a completely integrated application that incorporates the very best features of Local Government software. There are in excess of thirty modules all of which, apart from the core General Ledger, are optional.
In addition, there is a comprehensive module for Shipping that ensures that the product is suited and very attractive to Regional Ports.
SynergySoft meets the requirements of the Local Government Act (1995). It is a comprehensive management system, specifically designed to meet the current and future information processing and management needs of Local Government Authorities. SynergySoft is flexible, with modules being fully integrated, and has been designed to include a consistent and helpful interface between the user and the system. It also encompasses two very important principles:
- That data must only be input once and stored once (if an end client is a ratepayer, debtor, dog owner, and supplier etc, then as a user of the software when entering details about the client e.g. their name and address details I only need to do so once. The details are then held in and accessible from anywhere within the system.)
- All related data must be available for viewing. So, for example, if I have selected a property I can view everything about that property without having to move around the system. From within the Property system I will be able to tell if there are any applications, dogs, debts on other properties, correspondence, complaints, arrangements etc associated with the selected property, and I can view these without having to consciously navigate to different parts of the system.

A key feature of SynergySoft is that it has been designed around industry standards. SQL and ODBC are fully supported, allowing products such as Crystal Reports to access data within SynergySoft and very close integration with Microsoft desktop products and third party solutions.
SynergySoft has a Graphical User Interface (GUI) that is common across all modules and a browser interface will in future be available where appropriate to provide it. SynergySoft can also be used through a web browser if a Terminal Server environment is implemented. Hence a remote user can also use SynergySoft efficiently across the Internet.
SynergySoft comes with a range of standard reports and more than one Report Generator that can be driven by the customer. IT Vision has developed a Report Manager module that extracts data from anywhere in the database and allows the extracted data to be used with Excel or Word to produce reports.
Excellent integration is provided between the financial and costing aspects and Excel by a module named Excel Integration. This enables data to be extracted and tailored reports to be created by users using sophisticated, yet easy to use, macros. Data can also be transferred back to SynergySoft for some functions, so, for example, a report of current years data may be distributed in Excel format to managers to undertake their budgeting: The draft budgets can then be loaded into SynergySoft from Excel.
We have also developed reports throughout the system using Crystal Reports and customers can also develop their own reports with this tool if they desire.
SynergySoft also contains its own GIS (mapping) interface which enables SynergySoft data to be associated with Council’s cadastre and enquiries and searches to be done through a mixture of data and GIS.
