The Shire of Gingin has partnered with IT Vision to become an early adopter of the Altus Financial Suite as part of its customer collaboration program. Located in Western Australia’s Wheatbelt region, the Shire of Gingin will be the first site to rollout the integrated financial management solution.

Shire of Gingin Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aaron Cook said the organisation’s decision to become an early adopter stemmed from its recent growth and the need to streamline their key operating systems. Mr Cook also referenced the positive, ongoing relationship between the Shire and IT Vision.

“The Shire of Gingin has had a very strong working relationship with IT Vision over the years. We have great respect and trust for IT Vision and are eager to work with them as an early adopter of the Altus Financial Suite,” said Mr Cook.

“One of the major benefits of being an early adopter is the extensive support that IT Vision will provide. Support will be provided on-site to ensure the system meets our needs, and that our staff are trained well on the new platform. This close relationship will also help us iron out any issues we come across along the way.”

“Having been through this type of change previously, I know that there will be hurdles and issues to resolve, but the long-term gains through the Altus implementation will far outweigh any short-term issues.”

The Altus Financial Suite is a portfolio of financial tools delivered through a simple user interface. The application enables the efficient management of transactions and includes accounting tools such as Accounts Payable and Receivable, Bank Reconciliation and the core General Ledger accounting engine.

The Altus Financial Suite also has high levels of cyber-security, business continuity, governance and workflow built-in to ensure a seamless user experience.

Shire of Gingin CEO Aaron Cook said Altus platform would provide greater efficiencies across the organisation.

“Altus will enable us to be more efficient and proactive in areas of Council that will greatly benefit our community and ratepayers. The Altus Financial Suite provides us with the ability to be truly mobile and much more flexible than ever before.”

“The platform will provide a greater ability to generate and customise reports. We can also roll many differing programs and modules into the one cloud-based platform.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic really highlighted how ill prepared we were for staff to work remotely with full functionality. The Altus Suite will greatly assist with this if we require large numbers of staff to work from home again.”

As a cloud-based solution, Altus enables staff to access software applications from any location.

IT Vision CEO, Nigel Lutton said he was looking forward to working with the Shire of Gingin on the milestone project.

“We are excited that the Shire of Gingin will be the first early adopter user as part of our Altus development collaboration program. The collaboration program originated with the Cities of Kalamunda and Kalgoorlie-Boulder and the participation of Gingin as early adopter is a significant milestone.”

“The Shire of Gingin recently had the opportunity to see Altus in action when participating in a User Group workshop at the Shire of Irwin. Staff were able to experience Altus Payroll in a live environment and speak directly to staff about their experiences with the platform,” said Mr Lutton.

“Following this experience, the Shire of Gingin recognised the value the Altus platform could provide their organisation and have since partnered with IT Vision to become the first to adopt the full Financial Suite which includes Altus Payroll.”

“IT Vision looks forward to continuing our close working relationship with the Shire of Gingin and implementing a financial management solution that benefits their organisation and, ultimately, their community and ratepayers.”
