IT Vision’s user groups consist of local government professional from around the country, each representing different departments and levels of management. The user groups regularly come together to share knowledge, troubleshoot common problems, learn new skills and network.

It’s also an opportunity for the users of IT Vision’s Altus and SynergySoft products to channel feedback on their experiences back with IT Vision directly. This valuable process helps to refine product functionality and drives improvements in the overall user experience.

IT Vision currently has user group representatives from Western Australia, New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland with recent meetings occurring via video conference due to coronavirus restrictions.

Leanne Parola, Deputy CEO at the Shire of Coorow, is WA’s User Group President and says the group provides a strong support network for local government professionals.

“One of the greatest benefits of the user group forums is the opportunity to raise your questions in a collaborative environment. IT Vision help troubleshoot any issues experienced and provide insights on how to get the most of out of the software, and the whole group benefits. The knowledge sharing is really powerful,” said Leanne.

User groups across the country have been growing in popularity, with workshop attendance increasing significantly in recent months.

“Over the last 12 months we have been working with the IT Vision User Group to deliver relevant and topical workshops,” said IT Vision Product Manager, Glenn Cameron.

“Altus Payroll, late last year, was a good start and it drew in 65 active participants. It focused on process issues, trips and tricks in SynergySoft Payroll and our latest great in Altus Payroll.”

“The Asset Management workshop also attracted a great number of participants during the COVID-19 world of purely online presentations. That session drew in 60 attendees.”

“Our latest Workshop on Rates smashes all previous attendance records with 88 online attendees. It was a great forum, where the Department of Local Government, WALGA and LG Professionals fielded questions relating to the Minister of Local Government’s order on rates and interest penalties, and the many ways it can be interpreted. IT Vision’s session was focused on ways Local Governments can identify missed rates revenue and practical ways on using SynergySoft to align to the new order.”

“It’s great to see motivated and engaged IT Vision users come together and share their knowledge. From IT Vision’s perspective, their feedback is incredibly valuable, and I look forward to seeing the forums continue to build momentum.”
